Mechanism

Install-time injection of wallet-operation instructions into third-party AI-agent control files.

Attack narrative

The package uses an automatic postinstall hook to append or replace behavior-bearing instructions in third-party AI-agent configuration files. The injected text tells agents to prefer this wallet CLI over MCP tools, changing future wallet-operation routing without user action. Separately, command code can send an environment bearer token to a relay endpoint selected by an environment variable.

AI rationale

This is an unconsented install-time mutation of broad, foreign AI-agent control surfaces, with instructions that redirect sensitive wallet workflows. The automatic hook is sufficient concrete malicious install-hook abuse regardless of the separately user-invoked relay behavior.
