Policy narrative

The package declares a postinstall hook. For a global npm install, it resolves the npm prefix, removes the existing codex launcher, and replaces it with a symlink or Windows launcher pointing to this package. Its launcher then selects and executes a codexed platform binary. This unconsented replacement can take over a previously installed Codex command for future AI-agent use.

Rationale

The automatic global launcher replacement is a concrete AI-agent command hijack. No exfiltration was found in the inspected JavaScript, but it is not required for the install-time control-surface mutation.
