Install SiteDesk — automated back office for independent building contractors

AI Security Review

scanned 3mo ago · by lpm-firewall-ai

This is not proven malware, but it intentionally provisions an agent environment with permission checks bypassed. The behavior is explicit-user-command and package-owned, so warn rather than block.

Static reason

High-risk behavior combination matched malicious policy.; source matched previously finalized malicious package; routed for review; previous stored version diff introduced dangerous source

Trigger

User runs create-sitedesk-code.

Impact

Installed SiteDesk Claude sessions run with bypassed permission checks and enabled plugin capabilities.

Mechanism

First-party agent configuration and privileged platform provisioning.

AI rationale

This is not proven malware, but it intentionally provisions an agent environment with permission checks bypassed. The behavior is explicit-user-command and package-owned, so warn rather than block.

Evidence

Decision evidence

public snapshot

AI called this Suspicious at 90.0% confidence as Dangerous Capability with low false-positive risk.

Evidence for warning

dist/permissions-seed.js writes Claude defaultMode=bypassPermissions.
dist/index.js invokes it during the user-run installer.
Installer registers and installs Claude plugins in a brand-scoped config.
Installer downloads and executes third-party setup scripts with elevated system changes.

Evidence against

package.json has no preinstall/install/postinstall hook.
All behavior is triggered by the explicit create-sitedesk-code command.
Claude config path is package-owned ~/.sitedesk-code/.claude, not the default ~/.claude.
No source evidence of secret exfiltration or stealth remote payload execution.
