Install SiteDesk — automated back office for independent building contractors

AI Security Review

scanned 3mo ago · by lpm-firewall-ai

The scanner's download/execute signals are explained by a visible user-run infrastructure installer. Its package-owned agent setup is risky enough to warn, not concrete malicious behavior.

Static reason

High-risk behavior combination matched malicious policy.; source matched previously finalized malicious package; routed for review; previous stored version diff introduced dangerous source

Trigger

Explicit execution of the create-sitedesk-code CLI.

Impact

The installed SiteDesk agent can receive broad local tool permissions and added plugins.

Mechanism

first-party AI-agent environment and plugin provisioning

AI rationale

The scanner's download/execute signals are explained by a visible user-run infrastructure installer. Its package-owned agent setup is risky enough to warn, not concrete malicious behavior.

Decision evidence

public snapshot

AI called this Suspicious at 90.0% confidence as Dangerous Capability with low false-positive risk.

Evidence for warning

dist/index.js: explicit CLI installer runs privileged system/package setup.
dist/index.js deploy seeds a dedicated ~/.sitedesk-code/.claude configuration and trusts $HOME.
dist/permissions-seed.js sets Claude defaultMode to bypassPermissions.
dist/index.js auto-registers bundled and external Claude plugins.
payload/platform/config/brand.json declares external Claude plugins.

Evidence against

package.json has only prepublishOnly; no install/preinstall/postinstall hook.
Execution begins from the user-invoked create-sitedesk-code bin.
Claude mutations are scoped through CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR to the package-owned config directory.
Observed downloads are named infrastructure dependencies, not a hidden staged payload.
