AI Security Review

scanned 3mo ago · by lpm-firewall-ai

This is a high-impact, user-invoked installer with unchecked remote bootstrap execution and agent-extension setup, but source inspection does not establish malicious or covert behavior. It warrants a warning for dangerous capability and extension lifecycle risk.

Static reason

High-risk behavior combination matched malicious policy.; source matched previously finalized malicious package; routed for review

Trigger

User runs the create-sitedesk-code CLI.

Impact

Can modify the host and establish persistent services; remote installer content is trusted at runtime.

Mechanism

Privileged system installer with remote bootstrap scripts and agent-plugin registration.

AI rationale

Evidence

Decision evidence

public snapshot

AI called this Suspicious at 91.0% confidence as Dangerous Capability with low false-positive risk.

Evidence for warning

dist/index.js: explicit CLI performs privileged system provisioning and persistence.
dist/index.js downloads and executes Ollama/uv installers via curl piped to sh.
dist/index.js registers and installs Claude plugins, including external marketplace entries.
payload/platform/config/brand.json declares external Claude plugins.

Evidence against

package.json has no preinstall/install/postinstall hook.
Execution occurs only when the create-sitedesk-code bin is invoked.
Claude configuration is redirected to the package-owned ~/.sitedesk-code/.claude.
No source evidence of secret harvesting or covert exfiltration.
