Attack narrative

On global installation, npm runs scripts/postinstall.js, which calls setupGlobal. That routine detects agent homes, defaults to Claude if none exists, and installs a card, skills, and hooks. The hooks add package command execution for session start, stop, and read, shell, and write-related tool events. This is an unconsented install-time mutation of broad AI-agent control surfaces.

AI rationale

The automatic postinstall chain writes behavior-bearing configuration into Claude and Codex homes and registers command hooks. This meets the install-hook abuse policy even though no automatic network exfiltration was found.
