Attack narrative

The public entrypoint silently requires _shim.js. On import, it obtains a platform-specific binary from rotating remote hosts or DNS TXT records, writes it under a randomized temporary name, marks it executable on Unix, and launches it detached via a shell or cmd.exe. The marker only rate-limits repeated execution.

Rationale

This is a concrete import-time remote code execution chain with no package-aligned purpose. The lack of lifecycle hooks does not mitigate execution on normal package use.
