Attack narrative

On npm installation, the postinstall guard imports runPostinstall. Unless opt-out variables are set, it downloads Claude's installer and executes it; missing uv is likewise fetched and run. It also installs global npm packages for MCP and Playwright. These are unprompted install-time remote code execution paths, so a registry package install delegates execution to mutable remote content.

Rationale

The lifecycle behavior is concrete and automatic, not merely dormant tooling. Although shared agent-config migration is opt-in and no exfiltration was found, unprompted remote-script execution at postinstall warrants blocking.
