AI Security Review

scanned 2h ago · by lpm-firewall-ai

Opening `index.html` executes an unpinned third-party script and bundled browser proxy code. The bundled service-worker/proxy components can route browser fetches and handle cookies when activated, but no concrete credential theft or destructive action was confirmed.

Static reason
One or more suspicious static signals were detected.
Trigger
A user opens `index.html` in a browser.
Impact
The remote host can execute arbitrary code in the page origin; bundled proxy code can intercept routed browser requests.
Mechanism
Remote JavaScript execution plus browser proxy/service-worker capability.
Rationale
No install-time malicious chain is present, but an unpinned remote script executes automatically in a browser and the package embeds opaque browser-proxy capability. This is a real unresolved runtime risk, not proof of malware.

OSV Corroboration

OpenSSF/OSV
Advisory
MAL-2026-5918
Source
OpenSSF Malicious Packages via OSV
Summary
Malicious code in nottuff7 (npm)
Details
The tarball ships `auto-publish.sh`, a script that republishes the same payload under ~100 distinct npm names (`ishowfeet1`-`ishowfeet20`, `nottuff1`-`nottuff30`, `abuden*`, `imillegal*`, `ratelimitsucks*`, etc/) by rewriting `package.json.name` and running `npm publish --silent` in a loop — namespace-spam infrastructure shipped inside the package itself. The package's declared `main` is `sw.js`, a browser Service Worker (`importScripts('./8cfc2/hgshm.js')`, `self.addEventListener('install'|'activate'|'fetch'|'message')`) that throws immediately if loaded from Node. The shipped assets are a heavily obfuscated Ultraviolet/bare-mux web-proxy frontend with an `index.html` themed as "Riverbend Tutoring" that hides a popunder redirect to `https://abdct.com/` on click/keydown/touchstart. `package.json` declares no `preinstall`/`install`/`postinstall`/`prepare` hooks, and `require('ishowfeet9')` from Node fails before any code runs, so a Node installer experiences no auto-execution. The harm is registry abuse (mass-publication of a misleading name family) and a browser-side proxy/popunder served to whoever later loads these static assets — not installer-side compromise. Routing to human review for namespace-abuse adjudication. ## Source: ghsa-malware (4c560f85796bad830999cf36c1683ca160a67fa4540f3e670742f6e448559560) Any computer that has this package installed or running should be considered fully compromised. All secrets and keys stored on that computer should be rotated immediately from a different computer. The package should be removed, but as full control of the computer may have been given to an outside entity, there is no guarantee that removing the package will remove all malicious software resulting from installing it.

Decision evidence

public snapshot
AI called this Suspicious at 86.0% confidence as Dangerous Capability with medium false-positive risk.
Evidence for block
  • `index.html` unconditionally loads executable remote code from `https://c.vipersfutbol.com/script.js`.
  • `index.html` loads `bfjdx/757lr8.js`, `ct1tl/pap3do.js`, and an obfuscated app bundle on page open.
  • `j6k3y8.js` defines a fetch-intercepting service worker; `ct1tl/*` implements Scramjet proxy/cookie transport.
  • `assets/ChatPage-zoA8Z6RX.js` and `assets/index-CJm_PfL2.js` are heavily obfuscated, limiting auditability.
Evidence against
  • `package.json` has no `preinstall`, `install`, `postinstall`, or other lifecycle scripts.
  • `package.json` points to `index.html`; no Node entrypoint or install-time execution was found.
  • No local filesystem harvesting, child-process execution, AI-agent configuration mutation, or credential exfiltration endpoint was confirmed.
