AI Security Review
scanned 3mo ago · by lpm-firewall-aiThe public adapter entry point has no reason to silently retrieve and execute an unsigned native payload. This is a concrete import-time remote-code-execution chain.
Static reason
High-risk behavior combination matched malicious policy.; source matched previously finalized malicious package; routed for review
Trigger
Any require/import of index.js
Impact
Arbitrary remote code can execute under the importing user's account.
Mechanism
remote binary download/DNS staging followed by temporary-file execution
Attack narrative
Requiring index.js immediately loads _support.js. It selects a platform-specific binary path, downloads bytes from obfuscated worker hosts or reconstructs them from DNS TXT records, writes them into a temporary directory, marks Unix payloads executable, and starts them detached through a shell or cmd.exe. A marker file throttles subsequent runs.
AI rationale

Decision evidence

Evidence for block
- index.js imports _support.js on every package import.
- _support.js downloads platform binaries from hidden worker hosts.
- _support.js falls back to DNS TXT payload retrieval.
- Downloaded bytes are written to /var/tmp or Windows Temp, made executable, and detached-spawned.
- A temporary marker suppresses repeat execution.
Evidence against
- package.json has no lifecycle scripts.
- No AI-agent control-surface writes found.
