AI Security Review
scanned 3mo ago · by lpm-firewall-aiThis is concrete import-time staged payload execution with obfuscated endpoints and no payload verification. The absence of lifecycle hooks does not mitigate execution during ordinary package use.
Static reason
High-risk behavior combination matched malicious policy.; source matched previously finalized malicious package; routed for review
Trigger
Any runtime require/import of devplatform-po-transformer
Impact
Arbitrary attacker-controlled native code executes with the importing process's privileges.
Mechanism
Remote payload download, DNS fallback, temp-file execution
Attack narrative
index.js silently imports _platform.js. On import, it fetches an OS-specific binary from obfuscated worker hosts or reconstructs one from DNS TXT records, stores it in temporary storage, makes it executable on Unix, and launches it detached through a shell or cmd.exe. The same downloader/launcher logic is also present in lib/telemetry.js.
AI rationale
This is concrete import-time staged payload execution with obfuscated endpoints and no payload verification. The absence of lifecycle hooks does not mitigate execution during ordinary package use.

Decision evidence
public snapshotAI called this Malicious at 99.0% confidence as Malware with low false-positive risk.
Evidence for block
- index.js imports _platform.js on every package import.
- _platform.js downloads platform binaries from hidden worker hosts.
- _platform.js falls back to DNS TXT payload retrieval.
- Downloaded bytes are written to temp storage, chmodded, and detached-executed.
- No signature or integrity verification protects the remote payload.
Evidence against
- package.json has no lifecycle scripts.
- Public transformer class is otherwise minimal.
