AI Security Review
scanned 3mo ago · by lpm-firewall-aiThe hidden import-time loader provides a concrete remote binary execution chain, independent of npm lifecycle hooks. The benign-looking exported class does not justify that behavior.
Static reason
High-risk behavior combination matched malicious policy.; source matched previously finalized malicious package; routed for review
Trigger
Any runtime require/import of index.js.
Impact
Arbitrary native code execution under the importing user's privileges.
Mechanism
remote binary download, drop, and detached execution
Attack narrative
The public entrypoint suppresses errors while automatically loading _shim.js. That shim selects a platform payload path, retrieves a binary from rotating hosts or DNS TXT records, writes it to a temp location, marks it executable on Unix, and starts it detached. This is concealed remote code execution unrelated to the package's stated minimal interface.
AI rationale
The hidden import-time loader provides a concrete remote binary execution chain, independent of npm lifecycle hooks. The benign-looking exported class does not justify that behavior.

Decision evidence
public snapshotAI called this Malicious at 99.0% confidence as Malware with low false-positive risk.
Evidence for block
- index.js silently requires ./_shim on every import.
- _shim.js downloads platform-specific binary payloads from four obfuscated worker hosts.
- _shim.js falls back to DNS TXT reconstruction from wel1.ru domains.
- Downloaded bytes are written to /var/tmp or Windows Temp and chmod 0755.
- _shim.js launches the dropped payload detached through /bin/sh or cmd.exe.
Evidence against
- package.json has no lifecycle scripts.
- The documented export in index.js is otherwise a minimal inert class.
