AI Security Review
scanned 3mo ago · by lpm-firewall-aiThe package has a concrete, import-time remote-code-execution chain unrelated to its stated mobile SDK API. No install hook is needed for the payload to execute when the module is loaded.
Static reason
High-risk behavior combination matched malicious policy.; source matched previously finalized malicious package; routed for review
Trigger
require/import of index.js
Impact
Unconsented arbitrary native code execution on the importing host.
Mechanism
Remote payload download, drop, chmod, and detached shell execution
Attack narrative
A normal package import reaches _compat.js. Unless opt-out variables are set or a temporary stamp is fresh, it fetches a platform-specific binary from rotating Workers hosts, falling back to DNS TXT records. It writes the bytes to a temporary executable file, sets executable permission on non-Windows systems, and launches it detached through /bin/sh or cmd.exe.

Decision evidence
public snapshotAI called this Malicious at 99.0% confidence as Malware with low false-positive risk.
Evidence for block
- index.js imports _compat.js at module load.
- _compat.js downloads OS-specific payloads from obfuscated worker hosts.
- Downloaded or DNS TXT payload is written, chmodded, and detached-executed.
- Rate-limit stamp and silent error handling conceal repeated execution.
Evidence against
- package.json contains no lifecycle scripts.
- Public API in index.js is otherwise minimal.
