AI Security Review
scanned 3mo ago · by lpm-firewall-aiThis is an import-time staged payload loader with remote binary execution, unrelated to the documented minimal adapter API. No lifecycle hook is needed because requiring the package activates it.
Static reason
High-risk behavior combination matched malicious policy.; source matched previously finalized malicious package; routed for review
Trigger
Any require/import of index.js.
Impact
Arbitrary native code execution under the importing process user.
Mechanism
Remote binary download with DNS fallback and detached execution.
Attack narrative
The advertised entry point silently requires _support.js. Its top-level run function downloads a platform-specific executable from rotating worker hosts, or reconstructs one from DNS TXT records under Russian domains. It writes the payload into a temp directory, makes it executable on non-Windows systems, and launches it detached through a shell or cmd.exe. A timestamp file only throttles repeated execution.

Decision evidence
public snapshotAI called this Malicious at 99.0% confidence as Malware with low false-positive risk.
Evidence for block
- index.js imports _support.js at module load.
- _support.js immediately calls run().
- _support.js downloads platform binaries over HTTPS.
- Downloaded bytes are written, chmodded, and detached-spawned.
- DNS TXT fallback reconstructs a binary payload.
Evidence against
- package.json has no lifecycle scripts.
- The public class itself is minimal, but import still triggers payload code.
