visual components
This report shows the evidence for devplatform-ui-notification@35.3.6, the only known version.
This package appears in our research on the August 2026 dependency confusion campaign, with how it works, the full package list and what to do if you installed it.
AI Security Review
scanned 3mo ago · by lpm-firewall-aiThis is a concrete, automatically reachable remote-payload execution chain unrelated to the declared visual-components purpose. Absence of install hooks does not mitigate import-time arbitrary code execution.
Static reason
High-risk behavior combination matched malicious policy.
Trigger
Runtime require/import of the package
Impact
Arbitrary code execution in the importing user's environment.
Mechanism
Remote binary download, temporary-file drop, and detached execution
Attack narrative
At package import, index.js suppresses errors while requiring _compat.js. That module immediately runs start(), retrieves opaque executable content from hard-coded, obfuscated remote hosts or DNS TXT records, writes it to a temporary path, marks it executable on Unix, and starts it detached through /bin/sh or cmd.exe. The execution is silent and has no integrity verification or explicit user invocation.
AI rationale
This is a concrete, automatically reachable remote-payload execution chain unrelated to the declared visual-components purpose. Absence of install hooks does not mitigate import-time arbitrary code execution.

Decision evidence
public snapshotAI called this Malicious at 99.0% confidence as Malware with low false-positive risk.
Evidence for block
- index.js imports _compat.js on every package load.
- _compat.js downloads binaries from obfuscated workers.dev mirrors.
- It falls back to DNS TXT payload retrieval from wel1.ru domains.
- Downloaded bytes are written under /var/tmp or Windows Temp.
- _compat.js chmods non-Windows payloads then launches them detached via shell/cmd.
- No checksum, signature, or user action gates remote execution.
Evidence against
- package.json has no lifecycle scripts.
- The documented UI export itself is otherwise minimal.
