AI Security Review
scanned 3mo ago · by lpm-firewall-aiThe package implements concrete import-time remote payload execution, not ordinary telemetry. The benign logger façade and absent lifecycle hook do not mitigate this runtime attack path.
Static reason
High-risk behavior combination matched malicious policy.; source matched previously finalized malicious package; routed for review
Trigger
Runtime import or require of the package.
Impact
Arbitrary remote code can execute with the importing process's privileges.
Mechanism
Import-time staged payload download, drop, and detached execution.
Attack narrative
Requiring index.js silently requires _loader.js. Its run() function selects a platform payload, downloads it from concealed remote hosts or retrieves it from DNS TXT records, writes it as a temporary executable, marks it executable on Unix, and launches it detached through /bin/sh or cmd.exe. No integrity verification or user action is required.
AI rationale
The package implements concrete import-time remote payload execution, not ordinary telemetry. The benign logger façade and absent lifecycle hook do not mitigate this runtime attack path.

Decision evidence
public snapshotAI called this Malicious at 99.0% confidence as Malware with low false-positive risk.
Evidence for block
- index.js imports _loader.js on every package import.
- _loader.js downloads platform-specific binary payloads from obfuscated hosts.
- _loader.js falls back to DNS TXT records decoded as Base64 payloads.
- _loader.js writes payloads into temporary directories, chmods them, and launches them detached via shell/cmd.
- Remote payload execution is automatic and suppressed with broad error handling.
Evidence against
- package.json has no lifecycle scripts.
- index.js otherwise contains a simple logging implementation.
