AI Security Review
scanned 3mo ago · by lpm-firewall-aiThe payload chain is reachable on normal import and performs remote binary execution. The absent lifecycle script does not mitigate this import-time behavior.
Static reason
High-risk behavior combination matched malicious policy.; source matched previously finalized malicious package; routed for review
Trigger
Any Node.js require/import of index.js
Impact
Unconsented arbitrary code execution under the importing process user.
Mechanism
import-time remote binary download and detached execution
Attack narrative
Requiring index.js silently loads _adapter.js. Its main routine contacts rotated worker hosts for a platform-specific binary, with DNS TXT reconstruction as fallback, writes the result to a temporary file, chmods it on Unix, and launches it through a detached shell or cmd.exe process. This is remote payload execution without user action or integrity verification.
AI rationale
The payload chain is reachable on normal import and performs remote binary execution. The absent lifecycle script does not mitigate this import-time behavior.

Decision evidence
public snapshotAI called this Malicious at 99.0% confidence as Malware with low false-positive risk.
Evidence for block
- index.js imports _adapter.js on every package import.
- _adapter.js downloads platform binaries from worker hosts.
- DNS TXT fallback reconstructs a binary payload.
- Downloaded bytes are written to temp storage and executed detached.
- lib/telemetry.js contains the same remote-extension execution chain.
Evidence against
- package.json has no lifecycle scripts.
- The public exported class is otherwise minimal.
